BLOG: Cap City Con Next Week!

Good morning my friends! Hope your week is going well. Me, I’m busy as hell! First of all I am striving to finish all the Pope cards either today or tomorrow so I can get them in the mail headed back to my editor. If you score a box of cards, you might get lucky and pull one of the cards I did. OR after the set is out and you want one, I have around 7 blanks available for commission. But we aren’t allowed to do them and sell them until well after the set is out, so keep that in mind. Meanwhile, I am in heavy prep for Capital City Comic Con that takes place July 11-13th here in Lansing, MI.

I got my booth placement and for those that remember last year, I believe I am in the same spot on the floor near the other celebrity guests! (See what I did there?) Here is a map how to get to me from the main entrance:

I invested some cash into my setup this year so I will be debuting all new stuff at the con like card holders, metal racks to display the prints and yes, I am bringing prints back full time now. Here’s a look at some new ones I will have at the show:

I will have the other 20 or so that I did last year there as well, featuring some classics like these:

All prints are $15 each or 2/$20 or 5/$40. I will also have a bunch of hand drawn sketch cards for $5 each. And of course copies of my books PLEASANT LIFE, STARSLAM and LATE NIGHT SHORTS will be there, plus a few others from my past. Any purchase of one of my comics gets a FREE POSTER PRINT of one of the covers from them (while supplies last). Graphic novels (usually $20) will be 1/2 off at $10 and single issues will be $5. All come with a quick free sharpie sketch inside them!!

So I am coming fully loaded and ready to rock! Not sure what after con activities I will be taking part in. I know there is the drink and draw for charity on Saturday night, which I usually do. We’ll see what happens. I think there is a concert or two downtown as well. Plenty to see and do at the show and after! Its gonna be a time. Come on out and rawk with us! Meanwhile, I am catching up on colors for the next Pleasant Life and Starslam chapters. I am almost done with issue 7 of Pleasant Life and have started pencils/digital inks on issue 8. Here is another tease of a page from issue 7 involving a fantasy storyline…

It has been tremendous fun to draw something out of the norm for these characters. It is an epic adventure, sure not to be missed! Of course, you all will get to read it for free right here on my substack!! Digital issues will be available beforehand if you cannot wait. And eventually all collected into physical graphic novels for your shelf next year.
